Setting The Mood Part 2: Decorating
The candles are something I can light and they tell my mind, “You’re in the relaxed, working place now.” But the overall atmosphere of my office is always one of calm, because it is the room where deadlines are always looming and there has to be some way of battling the stress that comes with deadlines.
The wall art in my office is an eclectic mix, but a lot of it is very soothing. From my favorite Outer Banks watercolor to Ansel Adams photographs, there is a serene mix of calming pictures that make me happy. That helps keep me on track and meeting deadlines because stress just makes you work more slowly.
