How I Avoid Cleaning in Summer

Like vacuuming – it seems that we have Max and Ziggy (our miniature schnauzers) come take care of a room as soon as our toddlers are done eating. They get Cheerios off a rug faster than any vacuum I’ve seen.

Unfortunately, dogs can’t eat everything. Like the time the girls peeled every single crayon wrapper off of every crayon in the box of 96 we got them a couple weeks ago. There was just this pile of eensy weensy pieces of paper.

Dogs can’t eat that.

What I wouldn’t give to grab a cordless Dirt Devil vac and go to town on that pile! I hate dragging out the vacuum for small piles and other smaller messes, because it seems like the vacuum just sucks energy, throwing our electric bill through the roof if I use it for every little spill.

I’ve used cordless vacuums in the past, but they’ve always been such energy hogs…I kept waiting for a cordless vac with Energy Star approval, that way I could know it wouldn’t make my electric bill soar like my dogs do while they run for food that’s been dropped on the floor.

Maybe a Dirt Devil vacuum won’t make me love cleaning. I’m sure it won’t. But it does give me an option for cleaning toddler-size messes without adult-size energy waste.
