Give youself a few days off
I’ve been sick this week.
Not flu sick, not cold sick, not even allergy sick.
The kind of sick that makes it impossible to think. It’s what I call stress-sick. It’s not from any particular amount of overwhelm…no pinpointable amount of stress…but every once in a while my bran says, “No more, Jen, it’s time to relax.”
I know this is the case when I don’t have a sniffly nose but the pillows are never quite comfy. When I try to concentrate and plan my week, but…nothing comes to me…no insight, no plan.
For the first few days I fight it, but then I realize I’m not going to get my work-at-home groove back until I relax a few days. Thankfully, this hasn’t happened when a deadline was drawing near, so I’m generally able to accommodate myself quite well.
Then, once I feel better again, I throw myself back into the thick of growing my business.
Are you having trouble with your train of thought? Maybe you need to kick back and relax.
