Stay awake, work-at-home style

April 10th, 2008No Comments

There’s something about spring that always makes me want to hibernate.

I know, most people feel this way in winter, when all the covers you burrow under make you feel warm and comfy…but there is something about the rain and the sound of the showers falling that makes me want to curl up under a light blanket and sleep for the next year!

Short of getting espresso machines in every room of your home, here are a few tips to waking yourself up when you’re feeling a little sluggish.

  1.  Dance. Doing a little dance in the living room can help your blood get flowing and your neurons firing.
  2. Stretch. As much as you may want to curl up in a ball and never get out of bed, stretching will help your body wake up effectively!
  3. Coffee. When all else fails, go for the caffeine. Preferably in conjunction with one of the above ideas, of course.

Not getting sluggish can be an effort, but it is an effort well worth it when you get more done more quickly and produce higher quality work.
