What does AdSense on your page say about you?

I’ve heard a lot of opinions lately.

Some people have told me that my website looks less professional due to having AdSense ads on the front page of my website. Others have mentioned that I shouldn’t sell the services of others when my page is about selling my services.

One of the main adages I live by is, “It’s easier to show you than to tell you. This holds true for my skills as well. If I’m offering to update and maintain a client’s blog, the potential client wants to know before signing the contract that I’m capable of accomplishing the task. I feel a well placed, color coordinated AdSense banner shows that I’m able to integrate AdSense into a blog seamlessly and professionally. Also, having AdSense on my site shows a potential client right off the bat my ability to follow instructions properly. If I didn’t follow directions, I wouldn’t have an AdSense account at all.

My AdSense ads will never make a million dollars like they did for Jason Calacanis. That’s not my goal. My goal is to show my clients I know what AdSense is, I know how to utilize it within the blog architecture, and that I have the ability to learn new things as needed to be successful. In the above article the theme that repeats is quality content. The most important thing for any website/blog/sales page is content. If you don’t have it, AdSense isn’t going to help or hinder you either way.

The AdSense leaderboard proudly declares on my behalf, “You have found someone who understands your business!
